there was a death, the reason Usui was taken in by the police in the first place was because he was a murder suspect. the lady at the end confessed to it and is mentioned before that as the person who found the body.

not sure...the anime is too close to manga (they're only ahead by about 10 stories away) and even then, there are stand alone stories in the canon manga itself.

Next week is a special Police academy episode and the week after is another OVA. I, for one, enjoys the stand alone episodes (canon or non-canon) so just happy to watch new episodes 😊
